The best part about Cincinnati was being in the presence of great individuals who had accomplished much in life. I wasn't especially interested in any of the companies, and so the experience didn't directed further my career aspirations. However, being able to meet with Mr. McDonald from P&G, Mr. Busken from Busken Bakery, and Mr. Strike the accomplished entrepreneur was worth much more than a job offer - it was worth a golden ticket to whatever job I would ever want because I saw first hand into the lives of those who had successfully accomplished their career goals and so much more. I gained invaluable confidence in their presence.
I was a little disappointed with NSHMBA. I was far from prepared for the experience. It was still a good experience and I am glad I went because it helped me understand recruiting better; however, in the future I would make sure to be more prepared. The atmosphere was very competitive and it turned into a game to sell yourself to the respective employers. I would have a game plan of who to meet with and when and what to say to the respective companies.
